Cityscape 2
Mixed Media B & W photograph, watercolor painting overlay, and digital effects using Photoshop.
This piece is of the "Fairmount WaterWorks" in Philadelphia, PA.
The Water Works has always been a special place to me, I remember about 7 years ago a friend and I climbed piles of dirt and hopped fences to sit down by the river. The WaterWorks was being restored and revamped at the time but beyond the gritty plateau and down a metal spiral staircase was one of the most magnificent sites I have ever seen. Now you can visit it and everything is new, gloriously spectacular, and walkable.

Laura,
I really love your Cityscape 2! The WaterWorks is one of my favorite places in the city. I think you really captured its beauty, and you made me want to go for a walk there!

I like the combination of the black & white imagery with the colorful overlay. It reminds me of surrealist works.

I just love your style. I think I commented this on your first piece but there is such a rhythm and musical feeling to your piece, All I can hear is some upbeat jazz when I look at your artwork.

I love your second piece it looks very magical. It reminds me of an impressionist painting.

This is really very visually interesting. At first, I couldn't really see what was going on, and could only make out a few details and shapes. It looks like I'm seeing something through a reflection on a window... The colors drawing my eye just as I start to determine what's going on in the black & white photo. Grace is right, I do hear music when I look at these!

Laura,

Nice mix of media and I love it's rubix (sp?) cube quality. The different shape squares and color give it great depth. I could see different sections of your image placed on a backing of some kind (wood?), mimicking your shapes, but existing as one piece.

I think Breaking Ground Advertising LLC is looking for concept artists, yo.

Beautiful image. It feels calm and intriguing. I would like to go check it out now that I've seen this piece.
